Although a password may not exist for accessing the PDF itself, sometimes a password can exist for making changes to the document.
As our system needs to add document integrity barcodes (which help prevent data breaches) on to each sheet of paper in your letter, this constitutes as a change to the document. As a result, if a password exists to prevent this change then our system will not be able to process the file.

You can check for passwords on your PDF by:
1. Opening the PDF in Adobe
2. Press 'CTRL + D' on your keyboard to open document properties
3. Go to the 'Security' tab, as shown below:
Under 'Document Restrictions Summary', if any of the permissions are showing as 'Not Allowed' instead of 'Allowed' as per the above image, then a password exists. This will need to be removed by the creator of the PDF in order to process successfully with Postworks.
